Hogenakal falls

It is located on the borders of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka and the nearest main town is Dharmapuri. Hogenakkal is a quiet village at the confluence of the Cauvery and Chinnar rivers and it is from here that the Cauvery develops into a series of impressive waterfalls. It is also considered as a riverside spa with the waters having curative properties.

Sight-seeing Highlights
Besides the main waterfall, there is another big waterfall on the Cauvery river after Shivanasamudra. One can also visit Theerthamalai, which is a popular pilgrim centre and is about 16 km from Dharmapuri.

En route to Hogenakkal, one can stop at the Pennagram village and see the brightly coloured Aiyanar statues made of terracotta. One can also do trekking in the forest and the sanctuary surrounding the falls.
